Build an application around the workflow

A React frontend can combine service selection, qualification, account context and scheduling in one interface. It can also support a customer portal or internal dashboard where a booking is one part of a larger task.

We separate presentation from integration logic. That makes it possible to evolve the interface without spreading CRM credentials and account-specific rules across browser components.

Make the backend boundary explicit

The frontend requests an allowed action. The server validates the request, selects the authorized location and calendar, then calls HighLevel. Available operations depend on API permissions and the integration setup.

Tokens stay on the server. Requests need validation, rate limits and useful failure messages. A multi-client system also needs tenant isolation so one client cannot read or change another client's records.

Plan for more than the successful booking

Handle a slot that disappears during checkout, a contact that already exists, an expired session and a slow upstream API. Avoid blind retries after an ambiguous booking response; reconcile the operation before creating another appointment.

Workflow and pipeline behavior is configured and tested separately. Creating a contact or appointment is not proof that every intended automation ran.

What we agree before development

The scope covers screens, state transitions, data mapping, authorized operations and ownership after launch. We also identify what stays native in HighLevel, which integrations need access and which outcomes can be measured.

For SEO-facing pages, Next.js can render the core content on the server while React handles interaction. Authenticated portal content stays protected and should not be treated as public search content.
